The morning of the Christmas Day

“Maybe Christmas. he thought... doesn't come from a store, maybe Christmas,  perhaps... means a little bit more....”
― Dr. Seuss, How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

I love the morning of the Christmas Day. The night before our family enjoys the annual Christmas dinner and exchange of gifts and afterwards we go to bed tired but happy. The house is a lovely mess on Christmas Day morning but it doesn't matter, it will sort itself out eventually. My youngest daughter wakes up to a little something dropped of by Santa in the middle of the night and we get to share in the joy with her. He usually eats all the cookies we put out and we marvel at his ability to sneak in and out of the house unnoticed.

Tasty treats for Santa

Stockings are out and hanging
Santa must have loved his snack and he even left a thank you note

Christmas Day is a pyjama day for most of us here. The food is already prepared ahead of time, all the pressure is off and we can just enjoy each other's company with no commitments hanging over our heads.  There is nothing pressing to be done except for eating, watching movies, spending time together and being merry.

Christmas Day is like a whole world being put on hold for a little while. I love to live in this moment and pretend that nothing else exists. For this one short day nothing else does.

Merry Christmas Everyone!
